Current wrestling team thoughts after both matches this weekend,
plus watching NC State vs Missouri
125 One of the biggest reasons I am hoping for Iowa is to see how Dance handles Gilman. Dance just continues to roll.
133 Gus has put together a couple of good wins. He might be closer to a fringe top 25 guy than we all thought. Still probably won't score much at NCAAs if we qualifies
141 The sky is the limit for him. He already looked better than the #3/4 guy in the country despite the loss.
149 Unfortunately Sal is probably in about the same place at Gus. He can get some wins, but he hasn't shown it against top 20 guys this year.
157 Any inside information on how Nick is doing? It would be a real shame if he doesn't even qualify for NCAAs, but with his luck even if he does make it, I can't imagine he is going to make it as far as he could have with a healthy season
165 What on earth is going on with McFaddan? Is he just physically not where he needs to be yet? Either way he just isn't the same guy that we saw in December
174 He passes the eye test going up against above average wrestlers, but we really haven't seen him go up against top guys in a long time. Assuming Iowa that should change this weekend.
184 How good is ZZ looking right now? Gets a win over the #2 guy in the country, he picks up a decision over a guy that just majored the #10 wrestler, and nearly TFs the Duke guy. How about the rFr this year?
197 Not much you can say about Haught. Solid 10-15 type guy who beats who he is supposed to (just by close scores)
285 About the same for Ty, just that Ty is 2/3. Gwiz is just too good.
Overall, I'm seeing AAs at 125, 141, 285
Potential AAs at 157, 174, 184, 197 depending on how things shake out.
Between those 7, I'm guessing 5 make it. That is still a very good year.
